Reviews
It is rare for a Leadership and Management Coach and Mentor to come along who has an in-depth understanding and empathy for the most junior to the most senior managers. Margo does just that: she has a crystal clear knowledge of the issues and concerns managers face. I suspect part of the reason for this is Margo continues to work with junior staff to ensure that she gets a 360 degree picture of the environment that managers are working within.
In this book, Margo takes the mystery and fog out of management for first time managers. She gives them a book that embraces not just the practical skills, but also behaviour and attitude alignment. She translates this into an easy read with practical exercises and reflections. I will be purchasing this book for all my first time managers, and some of my more senior managers who could also learn from it.
As a very experienced manager, this book introduced me to new concepts and reminded me to reinforce my management foundations.
New within a management role, this book was pivotal in turning around my weaknesses into strengths.
An excellent place to start for those wanting to take their first steps onto the management ladder.
An essential handbook for managers seeking an insightful and structured route to successful leadership and career progression.
