Description
Babyopathy – Relaxed Mum, Contented Baby is first and foremost about Angela’s research into the effects of stress during pregnancy and how to combat this using her sensory techniques to enjoy a positive and relaxed pregnancy and birth to have a relaxed and contented baby. It is also about having lots of information so that you, as parents, can do what is right for you and your family wherever possible.
More and more people are recognising the need to de-stress in our busy lives. Angela wants to help empower mums with the information they need to know about their sensory journey when pregnant and their baby’s sensory experiences in the womb too, so they can make positive choices wherever possible. Just as important is giving parents ways to help nurture the sensory journeys and help de-stress and relax to enjoy their pregnancies, birth and beyond!
Angela’s message is “we should be mums supporting mums through a journey that wherever possible should be positive, nurtured and supported. By giving mums as much information as possible they can make the right decisions for them and their family – then they are relaxed mums with contented babies!”
Awarded the Best Family and Parenting Book 2019, and Angela is also winner of the 2019 Parenting Practitioner award in the Janey Loves Awards.
Authors
Angela has owned and operated children’s nurseries for over 25 years – finally selling them in 2018. She was named in the Top 10 most influential people in Childcare by NMT magazine in 2017.
After neither of her children slept through the night for their first three years, Angela researched child development. This quickly led to sensory stimulation, and the first programme, Natural Care, was introduced into her Angels at Play nurseries in 2000.
Angela further researched the impact of the natural world on development and examined the biophilia hypothesis, now incorporated into her Nascuropathy Programme and Babyopathy (for pregnancy and under one-year-olds).
Babyopathy was featured in Mother & Baby magazine.
Reviews
Love the Babyopathy concept and its positive energy. A nice, original if not fascinating idea – it grabs you (or did me!). The sensory section could cause a ‘revolution’ in how we nurture our babies before and after birth.
A book that supports parents in using their intuition by helping them to enjoy their parenting journey.
What new mums need is simple, straightforward honesty which is what is in this book.
Refreshingly realistic. I wish I had read this book when I had my first child.
